Spring is Sprung...maybe

I am ready for Spring! I began to get the entrance to my home ready for Spring in an effort to force Mother Nature to agree with me that it is time for Spring. Although the front step isn't completely done, I thought I would share it with you and let you know where I purchased a few of my things (and how to overhaul those old pots).

Since it isn't officially Spring where I live, the nurseries don't have many flowers in yet, but I did the best I could and planted a few pots. It is so great to see flowers again!

Before I share links where you can purchase some of these items, let me tell you about the pots on my front step: I painted them all. I went to a hardware store and found some fun colors of spray paint and I simply revamped some discarded pots. I loved the style of them, but they were beat up and a dingy white. I few coats of spray paint, and they have new life. Don't be afraid to paint your pots before you plant this year!

Several of the things on my front step I purchased at Target. This isn't an ad. These are simply things I liked at great prices that I thought I would share.

One of the easiest things you can do to update your front door is a new wreath. I liked this one because it is a bit wild. I like how the vines go all over the place and there are different colors in it. You can add a ribbon to make it personal to your color scheme.

I always get a new doormat with each season too. When you think about how dirty your doormat is, it is worth a few dollar investment to get a fresh one to perk up your front step. Time to toss that Christmas mat in favor of some Spring colors!

I like to layer my rugs. This black and white rug is an outdoor rug made for a deck. I use it in the front to make my entrance more inviting. I got mine last summer from Target, but here is a similar one. I think I need to run to Target to get this one for this year!

The lantern will be a great way to create some mood lighting as guests enter our home in the evening. I can't wait to light it. I love outdoor candles on a Spring night.

I hope this helps get you in the mood to decorate your front step for Spring. If you have already decorated for Spring, share some pictures. I would love to see! I will continue to share as I add more pieces and flowers. Happy Spring!
